A usability testing session, part of an Evidence at the point of Care (EPoCare) project aimed at designing, developing and evaluating clinical tools for mobile devices.  User groups included human factor engineers, computer scientists and practicing physicians.  Two information sources, Clinical Evidence and Evidence based Acute Medicine (EBOC) were tested, using a tablet style PC and pocket PC.

The study found that speciality had a greater impact on preferences than age and gender and different user groups clearly preferred differing formats and information depth and breadth (tablet or pocket PC).
